Insp ctor Hickaon explained that this survey was simply to define tho block so that the natives could bring applications for subdivision into the Laud Court. Huri, a young chief, siid there would bo trouble if the Government persisted, but generally the natives agreed nottonfhr any funher resistance, hiding content to enttr a ttrong protest. Inspector Hickson said that the surveyors wou'd recemmence work this morning, and tho w rk must be gr>t through without mtuiruption. The police enquired info the supposed nuicide of Roberts at Mureaki, Kaipara, but have not found the mining man.
