Saturday Since the Kastcr holidays business lus resumed ils normal condition. There is not this year the same extensive activity in the disposal of produce that has been manifested in previous years. The prices ruling locally arc, however, the highest iv the colony, and farmers of this district ought to be satisfied by the comparison. In Christchurch, for example, the high'st net quotation to the farmer for prime milling wheat is 2s 2<l, whereas in Oamaru aa high as 2s s}d has been piid for prime milling lots. The bulk of this week's busiutss has been conductc 1 at 2s 5d and 2s 5J I, only one or two small lines reaching the higher figure of 2s 5Jd. Seconds and inferior wheat is quoted at 2s to2s Id, and f .wl> feed Is 8d to Is 9d. Oats are very flat, and lid to Is Id for Danish and Tartars has been given, and up to Is 3d for bright short. Business, however, is very limited. There is somo enquiry after prime malting barley at 2s 6d to 2a 9d, and for onu or two lines 2 1 to 3d more has been paid. Tlie variation in quality is very m.irkul in th) lots offering. Potatoes are quiet at 3«">3 to 37s 6d, and are being sold retail at 3s Gd and 4i jtei big. l>,uiy produce is scarce, especially cays, which are bringing from Is to Is *Jd.
