Some of these are quite new, and many of them will prove aitrac'ivo to different classes of insurers. Tables 0 and F proride for payment of an annuity equal to 5 per cent on tho sum assured either foe the life of a stated bono6ciary, or for a specific tprm. Table X, for what are termed protective annuities, soems specially designed for professional men, and will supply for the first time a want which undoubtedly exists in many cases. Table Nis a combination, of endowment and life assurance for children, and provides tho latter without medical examination, tho Bocioty guaranteeing tho roturn of all premiums paid should death occur bofore 21 years of Bge, and cf tho full sum assured and bonuses if it ocour after that age. Jt is tha.t this table will be popular. But perhaps th,B most important innovation is that in which the society undertakes tb,o caro and investment of sunqs payable at death, and contracts to pay regularly by quarterly instalments a rato of interest thoreon governed by the effeotivo rate it earns. A further innovation, which will be probably more adaptable to smaller policies, is that by which an alternative annuity is oflerod for a certain period of H>, 15, or 20 years at Btated Gxod rates, instead of a lump Bum at (loath.
