THE WAIAREKA SCHOOL. (BY TELEGRAPH.) Dunedin, April 18.
The affairs of the Waiareka School occupied a good deal of the time of the Education Board. Tho Committee whioh h*d been appointed to inquire into tho dispute between tho School Committee and Mr P. }?. Fraser, teacher, reported that Mr Fraser, not having attended the inquiry in Dunedin, the Committee had closed it. Had Mr Fraser been continuing in tho service thsy would probably have proceeded to Waialeka, but as he had resigned they felt that no further action was necessary. The lion J. Macgregor spoke strongly about tho report of the committee. He read lengthy correspondence on the matter, including Mr P. B. Frasers lettets to Mr J. F. M. Fraser, member of the Committee of Inquiry. It was decided to receive tho Committee's report. Mr P. B. Frasers resignation was accepted, notwithstanding his requeat to hold it over till the inquiry was held, and it was resolved to hold an inquiry by a committee of tho whole Board.
