TRADES CONFERENCE. (BY TELEGRAPH.) Christchurch, April 18.
The Trades Conference to-day passed a Totn of flunks to the department for siring members permission to Visit the Aldington workshops. There was considerable discussion thia morning over the question of each centre running a Libor candidite, and it was finally resolred : That this Conference recommends the Trader and Libor Councils of the colony to etch run at least one bona fide workIng man candidate at the next general •leotioD. The Dunedin Seamen's Union telegraphed fraternal greetings and hearty thanks for the resolutions passed by the Conference re coolie l«bor. A long discussion ensued over the question of the establishment of a New Zealand labor paper, run by the trtdes councils. It was fliflided to refer the question to the Vftno'ai trades counoils for their opinious.
