The regatta passed ofl most successfully, the water being perfectly smoo'h •11 day. The win of the Queen'a Drive in the big event «ns very popular. Tho crew went off at a tremendous pacp, and •tiving ofl all challenges won by half a length, a similar distance sep»rating second and third boats, The finish was .» fine sight, six boatsalmostoverlapping each oiher. Auckland and Lyttolton were cqml favorites, but they were never dangerous. M'Grath had an easy win in the ecullp. The surprise of the gathering was the handsome defeat inflicted on tho Auckland crew by the Picton men, and tho downfall of the St. George's (Auckland) crew iv the two junior events was also unexpected.
