NEW YORK POLICE SCANDALS.
The grand jury announces that ib lias received evidence that the keepers of diaorder'y houses, who were formerly made to pay to'l to bhe police, now blackmail the police instead, and thab there are more houses of this character open in certain districts of the city than ever there were hofore. From the information placed before tho grand jury, it appoars thab the keepers of these eßtabliahmpnts have given the police to understand bhab if they interfere with their houses or the conduob of their business they will go to the grand jury and make further revelations on their own account as bo the methods of the police. They have threatened bo tell the grand jury how much money really had been paid the police by them. Tho evidence already at the disposal of fcbe> grand jury shows that the keepers of such establishments have even received money rocenbly from the police to induce thorn n.b to #o to the grand jury, and thab fcho police have, in addition, allowed them to keep open without hindrance.
