SALE OF THE ELEPHANT HILL FLOCK.

Moairs Wrighb, Stephenson, and Cd, report as follows : We offered the entiro flock of the Elephant liill station homoBtead yard on Thursday, II 1 h instant, The day being favonblo, and tho roputttion of tho A >ck second to nono in South Canterbury, a largo number of people assombled to witness its dispersion ; but it ooon became evident that tho proportion of buyers amongst them was Bm -ill. Excepting in tho case of the L°icestorB, bidding was for thp moat patt confined to two buyers, and whoro those two happenod to be in opposition fair values, ns prices go nowadays wore obtained. Thoro wore plenty of buyers for the Leiaoaters at tho tale, but as the condition they wore in was not n&lisfactory, lew prices had to bo pcceptod. Tho flock oomprised 10,688 sheep and lambs, and nil were sold as follows : Four, six, and eight tooth crossbrod owes, Cs 7d etich ; two-tooth do, 6s 3d ; fat crossbred wether*, 9s 2d ; four and six-toath do, 5i 6d; two-tooth do, 3* 41 ; cull crossbrod owes, 2s 3d ; crossbrod ewe lambs, 3i 10J ; do woihor do, 3s; halfbred do, 2* 3d ; cull do, Is } cull merino ewes, lid ; t«o, four, six, and oight-tooth Border Leicester r<»in\ jila to $3s ; do ram Umbo, (\i Od to 9^ 6d } do owe do, 6s 6d to 11s ; two. four, 9ix, »nd eight-tooth do ewea, *ls to 11s.
