Sir Arthur Gordon, tho Governor of Fiji, received a very friendly reception from tho Natives of 'l'on^a. Tho chiofs declared thoii* determination to maintain their own Government, which Sir Arthur Gordon highly praised them for. Tho Now Zealand Insurance Company loso Ll2OO, and tho North British L3OOO, liy tho foundering off Cape Horn of the ship llazollino, from Now York to San Francisco. Risks were taken up by the S.vn Francisco offices of both those companies.
