Copies of the Memorandum nnd Artiolos of Association can be seen at the Office of tho Compnny. and nt sn.> of the Branches of tho Bank of New Z<iahn»d, whero Foims of Application oan bo obtained, and deposits will bo received. The Directors eaoh subscribed for £1003 cash (being part of ordinary onpital) prior to tho formation of the Company, nnd hnve undertaken its organisation ns n thoroughly Colonial institution, with headquarters in Wellington. One-half only of the shares will be immediately issued, and tho Directors, hating already apportioned a considfrablo number in securing a large amount of important support, aro prepared to place the available balanco in fair propoitions throughout the Colony with perrons whoso business or infliienoo is calculated to be valuable to the Company in tho mutual interests of all ooncerntd. Tho Company being thus possessed of strong insurance support, and being ablo to offor the publio the guarantee of amplo cash cnpital, with thorough security, will comnn>nco business, tho whole of the remaining 10'\0C0 shares bsing reserved for allotment in successive istues to actual iniurors with tie Compnny, under tho provisions of tho \rti cles of AMOo'ation, in proportion to tho irsunvneo premiums paid by them. The proportion of shares foe issue, compared to the amount of pounds sterling of insurance premiums pni'l, *ill be declared from time to time nt tho discretion of tho Dirootori, so as to offer a continuous inducoment to insurers to join the Company. HcTcral of tho directors havo had experience of tho great ndvnntngo of mutuality in connection with the moot succcesful Life Assoointion Assurarco existing, and, after long consideration, tho Board are satisfied that tho present proposal comprehends tho most practic«l embodiment of that principle applicable to Firo nnd Marino business. Iho Directors aro fully nlive to tho importance of considering in the first allotment tho great body ef smill insureis, and they have also determined, notwithstanding any pressure, upon maintaining the chief point of their proposal, viz., that they wi!l keep in hand the whol* of the remaining 100,000 shares for future allotment to aotunl insurers upon the definite nnd equitable basis abovo stated, whioh places nil ranks of insurers upon an equal footing. The Dirootors havo therefore calculatod upon the fo lowing results, viz : That the method of fixing tho capital will attach a large amount of business, and that the Company will havo tho sympathies of tho publio as a colonial institution, opon to all insurers upon a mutual prinoiplo, and yet bucked by large capital, soourity, and business. Tho Companies hitherto formed havo boen uniformly successful, and tho rapid progress of the Colony fully wnrrnnts the foundation of a similar institution in its Cnpital City. The rates and general terms of business of ♦ho rompnny will be eimilnr to whatever mny be current from timo to time, ns the insured will be- enabled to participate ns nearly ns possible in proportion to tho profits derivable therefrom. It is not anticipated that any furthor calls will ho made. Tho applications for shares will bo considered as rocrfived, nnd tho Lists will bo closed in each Province at tho discretion of tbe Directors. Tho Bank of New Zealand is row prepared to receive applications for shnres. mj7 NORTH OTAGO PKRMANENT BUILDING SOCIETY. nPHE Usual MONTHLY MEETING of the abovo Sooioty will be hold nt tho Secretary's Office, Tyno street, THIS (LUHSDAY) EVENING, 7th MAY, between the hours of 7 and 8.30.
