The Government schooner Caroline, Captain Liddle (Provincial Superintendent of Buoys and Beacons), arrived here on Tuesday afternoon, and is now engaged in the examination of the outer moorings. Of the several wool ships now in harbor, the Commodore has now received her full carao, and will have em ly despatch. Her cargo consists of 1843 bales wool, 945 of which -were shipped at Port Moeraki. This quantity will make the exports for the present year, up to end of this month, equal to 8207 bales, against 4022 bales exported up to the same date last year. The quantities forming the aggrefjate last year were, by the Chile 2121 bales, and by the Star of Tasmania, 1901 bales. This year the exports in Feb. will consist of 1906 bales by the Star of Tasmania, 2136 bales by the Chile, 1322 bal^s by the Malay, and 1843 bales by the Commodore. Before the end of the month, it is piobahle that the ship Gala will also have sailed, scarcely with a full cargo, on account of the slowness with which some of the wool has come forward, but with at least 25' 0 bales, a considerable proportion of which has been " dumped." The other vessels loading are the Eobert Henderson and Celseno, at Port Chalmers, and the Gazehound at Oameru, the first of these having now about 1000 bales on board. The vessels which sailed last year after the month of February, were the St. Dunstan, despatched with 1582 bales, the Aboukir with 2000 bales, and the Ramsey, with 2365 bales.— Daily Times. The V.N.Z. and A.R.M. Co's s.s. Airedale, Captain E. H. Ferguson, arrived on 22nd ult. Left Bluff at 4 p.m. on the 21st, and experienced fresh N.E. winds throughout. Hero, at 4 p.m. on the 20th, passed a brig and baique in the offing about Moeraki, but too far to sea to make out their names. The baiquo Malay, hound for London with a cargo of wool, the produce of this Province, was towed out on 22nd ult., by the steamer Samson, a number of friends accompanying Captain Peters to the Heads. "We believe there is a probability of Captain Peters returning next season direct to Oamaru with a general freight for that port, and with the intention of again loading wool there for the home market. — Times. The vessels next expected from home with assisted immigrants, are the Esmok and St. Vincent. By the Esmok, which has sailed from London, only a very few are expected, but there are from sixty to sexenty souls, equal to fifty statute adults, on board the St. Vincent. The latter vessel, which will be the last despatched under Messrs Potter, Wilson and Co 's contract for 1864, saild from Glasgow on November 29, and from Lamlash on the 9th December. The s.s. Hero, wnich arrivd on Saturday at 9 a.m.. left Port Cooper on the 21st inst., at 2 p.m , experiencing light fine weather along the coast. From Wellington to Lyttelton she had heavy weather, encountering a strong head gale. As she was entering Wellington harbor, the steamer City of Dunedin was leaving with upwards of 90 passengers for the West Coast. The Hero, which sailed on Monday evening, had 118 pa^sengei s, a few having shipped for Melbourne, but the majority intending to 7>roceed to the Okatiki diggings. Tho Prince Alfred, which was detained until Monday forenoon, saillecl with about CO passengers. The Commodore, the fourth wool ship of the season, left her anchorage on the 27th ult. She carries 1839 bales of wool, about one half of which she shipped at Moeraki; 509 hides, &c, &c. The s.s. Queen is the New Zealand Steam Company's next boat due from the North.
