TOWN BOARD. 22nd February, 1865.
Present —Messrs Shrimsld (in the chair), Thompson, Grenfell, Gibbs, and L^mon. It was resolved to accept of Mr Sumpter'a offer of £3 per annum for Section 3, Block XXIV. The subject of the drain nuisance in Tyne-street being breught forward, Mr Gibbs explained that he had been°examined as a witness on the subject in the Magistrate's Oourt. Mr Grenfell moved, seconded by Mr Thompson — " That the subject bo not considered until there is some offici il intimation of the matter being before the Magistrate's Court." Not carried. It was moved by Mr Gibbs, seconded by Mr Lemon, and carried — " That Mr Baker bo required to have a coveied cesspool made to take the drainage of his premises, and to have such cesspool emptied when required." In place of the motion of which Mr Shrimsld had given notice, as to defining the powers of the Board, Mr Grenfell moved, seconded by Mr Gibbs—" That a, inb-committee be formed, to consist of Messrs Gibbs, Sbrimski, Lemon, and the mover, for the purpose of corresponding with the authorities in reference to certain rights and privileges of the town." Carried. On the motion of Mr Gibbs, seconded by Mr Lemon, it was resolved that the meetings of the Board take pl^ce at 5 p.m. in future. The next meeting will take place on 8th March, at 5 p.m.
