AUCKLAND.
The Bangatira biought on the news fiom Wellington lnMc.ul of the Storm Bud, and by her theie ate Northern papeis to the latest dates, fiom winch the following paiticulars aie gleaned : — On Monday the 21st ult, Mr Weld airived at Auckland per s s. Phoebe, and on the **ame day His Evcellency having desired the late Mnnstiy to Kiiirgt'st the name of some ineiubei of the Assembly upon whom the duty ol (oiining a new Ministiy should devolve, Mr \\ chl was named, and that gi nth-nun in const quciice had a long interview with His Excellency which lcnilted iv the expiession ol his detei munition to foim a Ministry. Mr Weld immediately after had a consultation with Ins fiiend**, and leceived assuiance from them of support and assistance in the task he had undertaken. The list of the ne ,v Ministry as given in the "Cross " and ,l Herald," differs liom that given in the "New Zealander" The list in the " Cross" of the 24th ult., is the same as that given in the telegram. The '* New Zealander's " version is similar to that of the " Jerald " and the "Cross" with reference ty tbe appointment ot Mr Weld, Mr Sewell, and Mr Fitzheibert, but jit gives the Postmaster Generalship to Mr Crosbie Ward, and the Defence Office to Major Richardson. '*It is painlul," says the "■Now Zealander," "that Auckland is umeprcsented in the Ministry; . . but Auckland has 4 been too much identified for a tune in men's minds with a section of statesmen from whom Auckland derives no renown, and Aucklanders must for a time suffer the penalty ... It is stated to be determined on, that the Scat of Government shall be removed as speedily as possible to Wellington. We may also suppose that the new cabinet will adopt the Panama contract."
The "Southern Cross" says:—"We have "little to say against any member except Mr Sevvell, who is, to say the least, the last man we would have supposed likely to range himself by the side of Mr Weld. ... In the personal character of Mr Weld and Major Richardson, we have a guarantee that they will not consent to any compromise with the Governor which would place the Colony in a false position, or reflect unjustly on the character of their predecessors. Indeed, so far as we know, Messrs Fitzherbert and Atlcinson, we may also say the name of them.
