(From the " Melbourne Argus.") Sydney, Wednesday, 9tb Nov. After roost acrimonious debate, the Legislative Assembly adjourned last night without voting supply. 'iVdiiy the Governors pu>clamation proroguing the House till viOth December was issued. A formal notice, dissolving the Assembly, has been signed, but will not be issued till to moirow. The Southern mail was robbed to-day Mr Ilolleston, late Registrar General, has received the appointment of Auditor-General, vice Captain Mayne, who goes home as colonial agent, specially charged to investigate the alleged iiauds on Government in the purchase of railway mateiial. The Ciicketing Association will hold a meeting to morrow evening, when the piopriety of renewing the intercolonial matches will be discussed. The London and Lancashire Insurance Company have established a bianch heie, with an influential local dhectoiy. Mr Ball has accepted the Tieasurership of Queensland. Arrived : Charlotte Andrews from Valparaiso, with a cargo of breadstuff's ; Jehu, from Callao ; Black Dog, from New Caledonia. Sailed : Dundonald for London. The Jehu brings a cargo of guano for Messrs Bright Brothers, of Melbourne. A large vessel, from Valpaiai&o, was spoken off the coast to-day.
