TOWN BOARD. Friday, October 28th.
Present — Messrs Gibbs (in the chair), Hassell, Thompson, Shrimski, and Sewell. The minutes having been read and signed, Tho Chairman stated that the meeting was called for the purpose of considering a communieatfon from his Honor the Superintendent in reply to a memorial recently transmitted to him from a public meeting (the reply was addressed to Mr Ashcroft for the information of the memoi ialists, and forwarded by him to the Board.) Mr Shrimski objected to the communication being read or considered, as not addressed to the Board The Chairman explained that the letter was in reply to a petition forwarded by a public meeting. The letter having been read, It was moved by Mr Shrimski that the communication ba referred back to the memorialists. Seconded by Mr Hassell and carried It was intimated by the clerk that no objections had been lodged to the proposed alteration of the level of Tees street. Moved by Mr Hassell — That the clerk be instructed to write to the owners of property in Tees street, stating that the Board offers no objection to their adopting the proposed level, but without prejudice to any future alteration in the levels of the town. Seconded by Mr Shrimski and carried unanimously. Moved by Mr Thompson, seconded by Capt. Sewell — That a two-rail fence be erected on either side of the bridge, to meet the existing fences. Carried.
