TOWN BOARD. Friday, September 16, 1864.
A meeting of the Town Board was held at the office of Mr. J. Y. Ward, Tyne strcot, on Friday last. Present— Messrs. Hassell, Sewull, and GHbbs (Chairman). The minutes of the previous meeting wore read and confirmed. The following notice of motion lapsed, in COnsOqiience of the absence of Mr Skrimski : — " That the resolution of the Board respecting the posting of bills on public property, as contained in the minutes of the Town Board meeting hold on 31st March last, be rescinded." The following accounts were ordered to be paid : —Mr. H. France, £9 9s. 6d. ; F. Pinkerton and Co. (advertising and stationery), £2 16s. 6d. } Turnell & Co., 4s. Cd. Mr. S. Gibbs gave the following notices of motion " That it is expedient to raise funds to build an hospital, and that an assessment be made m the town through the Town Board for this purpose ; that for this end the School Committee be requested to give access to their assessment roll j that donations and subscriptions be requested from persons living in the district; that the Superintendent bo requested to have a sum placed on the Estimates to assist the above object ; that the Town Board have the control of the same, and that a publics-meeting bo called to consider the above question.)^ " That the attention of the Superintendent and Council be again called to the memorial from the inhabitants of Oamaru, presented to him some months ago."
