AUGUST 2.3—Hope, 20 tons, Matheson. fiom Dunedin, with cargo :—42 bags oats, Houghton and Co ;60 bngs oats, Chesney; 120 bags oats, 5 cases cheese, 2 ciaea iai&ins, 1 halo blankets, Dyason ; 2 tanks, Beal; 12 cnies oilmen's stores, 1 bag, 2 spirits, Lawson nnd Co ; 2 kegs butter, 2 kegs, Hopkinson ; 5 bags bone duat, Franke; 70 bags flour, Durden; 1 parcel, Murdock.

&c, and G passengers. _ gincs our last publication the weather has been boisterous, pioducingan unsually heavy swell and surf, and preventing vessels from approaching the coast. The Undine, 22 tout, Taylor, ai rived in Waikouaiti Bay on the 2MA inst, from Waikava, with timber coneigued to Mr Bruce; and, through strpss of weather, she Pailed the noxt flay for Port Chalmers without being able to land her cargo. The barque Francis Millv, TCynon, from the Mauritius for London, has landed at Plymouth part of the ciew of the Fcdeial ship Avon, a prize to the Confederate watship Florida. The Avon, a vpsset of 1,031 tons, Captain Howes, belonging to Messrs Hartley, Lord, and Co , of Boston, was from Rowland's Island, laden with guano, for Queonstown, for orders. From the yard at Renfrew of Messrs. Henderson, Conlborn, and Co , was launched a screw steamer named the Fgrnont. She is to be fitted with a pair of diagonal oscillating engines of 80 horse power nominal. The following ate her principal dimensions :— Length over nil, 17G fiet; bipadth, 25 feet; depth, 12 feet 9 inches. There was hunched from the building-yard of Messre. A ll.ill and Co ,at Al>enleen, a fine clipper ship of 996 tons NN M , named Edward P P.ouveiio. The vessel v* built on thf> new pimciple, wood and iron, is the property of a Scotch fiim, and intended for the Australian or New Zealand tradf. Staple's Ciicular reports of shipments to N>w Zealand—" Nine vessels have cleaied during the month (ending Jutip 7th), the dt-rlared value of the cargoes being £101,009 against £170,429 in April May Four of the above are for Auckland, value £C 4,05/5 ; and those for OUgo, value £51,20 1."
