Malta, July 1. The English Government "declines active interference on behalf of Denmark. A Conservative meeting had adopted an indictment in the form of an address to the Queen. A resolution in the House of Commons was to be moved by Mr Disraeli, on July 4th, thanking her Majesty for placing the diplomatic correspondence before Parliament. It further would express deep concern at the failure of the Conference, and regret thatj by mismanagement, the influence of England has been lowered. Mr Kingsley was to move an amendment, expressive of satisfaction at our abstinence from armed interference. Hostilities have been recommenced. Alsen was captured by the Prussians. Jutland is occupied as a pledge. The entire Confederation join against Denmark, and the allies declare themselves free from their late concessions. A naval engagement at Heligoland was imminent. In America, Grant's whole army was south of the James River. Sheridan's corps had been defeated.
