News from Mexico to December 22, via Ilavannah and New Orleans, reports that the Imperial cause is rapidly gaming ground. Guanaxuato was occupied by the FrancoMexican Geneml Mi-ju on the Bth. Agnus Calientes had suirendeied to the French under Colonel Chnrez. The last meeting of the Mexican Congress was at San Luis de Poto'.i, November 20, at winch only 68 inembeit, wire present, which being insufficient to form a quorum no bubiness was tiansacted. 27th ult., via San Francisco, confirm the reports of the French successes, and add that on the 17th General Uraga, with 5000 Mexicans, attacked the French at Morelia, and were repulsed with a loss of 2000 killed and wounded. A letter purporting to have been written by President Juarez at San Luis de Potosi on the Bth, received at San Francisco, admits the superiority of the French troops, and virtually that organized resistance on the part of the Mexicans is at an end. — Evening Mud.
