LONDON, Monday. Tho mobilisation of reservists in the western provinces of Russia is resulting in alarming violence. Many Jewish shops have been looted, and some priests and officers killed. The military were employed to suppress the rioting. A thousand peasants crossed the frontier, but were driven back by Germans.

The Russian fleet, under Roshjestvenski, has sailed from Tangier, steaming west by south towards the Mediterranean.

Reuter’s agency at St. Petersburg reports that Russia has accepted Great Britain’s draft convention. It is expected that the Commission will meet in Paris in a fortnight. It is believed that far more than £IOO,OOO will be demanded from Russia for the outrage.
