Sporting.— The match between Mr. Ingham's Patch gelding and Mr. Dale's Patch gelding was run on the Nelson Course on Wednesday last. The latter horse was the favourite at starting, and continued so during the running, until within the ropes, wfcen Mr. Ingbam's horse went in and won a well-con-tested race by a neck. After the match, Mr. Hunter's black gelding Zingaree won a race for a saddle, beating Olympic, and others;
and Mr. Hope's grey mare, Medora, won a race for a second saddle, beating Mr. Havgreave's Tommy, and some others. The Steamer Zingari. — This smart little craft left the Harbour on Wednesday last, on a pleasure trip to Massacre Bay, returning yesterday morning vid Astrolabe Roads and Motueka. The company, we hear, were delighted with their excursion, and speak in the highest terms, not merely of the urbanity of Captain Millton, but of the general desire evinced by all under his command to do their best to add to the general comfort and enjoyment.
