WHEREAS the General Assembly of New Zealand has been dissolved, and Writs under the hand of his Excellency Thomas Gobe Beowne, Eaquire, Companion of the moat honourable Order of tho Bath, Governor and Commander-iii-Chief in and over tho Islands of New Zealand, bearing date the ftftcenth day of September instant, have been directed to me, John Poynteb, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Provinco of Nelson, requiring and commanding mo to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form bylaw prescribed, Six Members, to serve in flic House of Representa~ tives for the colony of New Zealand, for the several districts, as follows, viz. : — Town of Nelson . . Two Members Waimea Districts . , Two Members Wairau District . . One Member Motueka and Massacre Bay District . , . One Member. Now therefore I, the said John Potnter, do hereby, in pursuance of the said writs, give notice that I appoint the several days following, at Twelve o'clock at noon, for tho NOMINATION of Members for the said districts, that is to say — Ibr the Town of Nelson — at the Court House, Nelson, on TnuRSDAT, the First day of November next. ) For tffe' Waimea Districts — at Richmond, on Mojjdat, the Fifth day of November next. For the Wairau District— at Mr. Godfrey's Hotel, Wairau, on TnuBSDAr, tho First day of November next. To form a Road' across tho 'Swamp in the Wood in tho Wairau Plain, between Ellis's and O'Brien's, by Section No. 35. / To form a short piece of Road, with a Bridge, Ky Section No. 71, on the road leading from Mr. John Godfrey's to Mr. Sinclair's. / Specifications and Forms of Tender for tho wider'mentioned Works may be seen at the Public Works -Oflice, or at Mr. Sinclair's house, Wairau. WHEREAS a WRIT, under the hand of his Honor Edward William Stafford, Esquire, Superintendent of the Provinco of Nolson, bearing date the Second day of October instant, hath been directed to me, John Poynter, Esquire, Resident Magistrate and Returning Officer for the Province of Nelson, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, TWO PERSONS to serve as TRUSTEES under tho Nelson Trust Funds Act, in the place of Alfred Christopher Picard, Esquire, deceased, and of William Olddeld Cautley, Esquire, whoso seat is vacant from non-attendance for six months at tho Board without leave of absence. Now, therefore, I, the said John Poynter, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, and of the Proclamation of his Honor the Superintendent, give notice, that the Nomination of Two Members to be elected under the said Act, will take place at -Noon, at the Courthouße, Nelson, on Tuesday, tho Sixth day of Noveinbor next ; and in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby give notioC that I will adjourn the Election to Tuesday, the^Oth of November, for the Polling to take placo. / Tho Polling to commence at Ten o'clock in the forenoon, and closo at Fout o'clock in the afternoon of the ■same day.
