All Mares with certified thorough-bred pedigrees, and certain other Mares, at the option of the owner of the Horse, Five Pounds. Il Babbiebe, out of a mare by Emilius, out of Sal (sister to Sam) by Scud, out of Hyale by Phenomenon, out of Rally by Trumpator. Sal, own sister to Sam, winner of the Derby in 1818. Sire, the well* known horse Figaro, by Operator, out of Adelaide, by Theorem, out of Manto. - Ii Babbiebe is the sire of the two principal winners of last year, Zingara and Rosebud, and ia known to.be out of a very excellent mare imported by the late H. A. Thompson, Esq. He is a fine dark chesnut, and is calculated to be the aire of either capital racing or hack stock. The Horse will commence to stand on the- 20th of September, and jyill visit the Wakefield, Anns every Monday; the^fiar and Garter, Richmond, . every Wednesday every. Friday in. each week. Paddocks, and plenty of oaten and other straw, wjll be provided for mares, and mares and/foals at a reasonable price. TO STAND THIS SEASON, at HEDGESiobd, Waimea West, the following Hpwesj— SIR HERCULES, A beautiful dark bay thorough-bred horse, .free from white, fifteen hands, two inches, high, with imJnense muscular power, splendid legs and feet, .and without a blemish or imperfection. Sir Hercules is the sire of the renowned Cossack, who is admitted to be the best horse that ever run on the Australian, turf (also of Flora and Zoe, whose performances on the Nelson turf are well known), and many other winners on the Australian turf. Sib Hebcuies by the imported horge Cap-a-pie, out of the imported mare Paraguay ; Cap-a-pie by the Colonel, dam (sister to Cactus) by Sultan, .out of the Duchess of York by Waxy. Paraguay (who ran second for the Oaks, and won the Newmarket Town Plate and Nursery Stakes) by Sir Hercules, out of Paradigm by Partisan. Sir Hercules by Whalehone, out of Peri by Wanderer. The Colonol (who ran . a dead heat for the Derby, and won the St. ; Leger) by Whisker, dam by Delphini, out of Tipple Cwer by King Fergus ; vide Stud Book. Terms. — Thoroughbred mares, the price to be arranged with the owner; half-bred mares, £7, groomage included. li. ATHELSTANE, A splendid Cart Stallion, rising seven years old, with fine action and temper; is the sire of some of tide most promising cart stock in the province. Terms. — £3 a mare, and ss. the Groom; guarantaea £4, and ss. the Groom. 111. FRANTIC, A promising thoroughbred Colt, rising thiree years old, by Sir Hercules, out of Florence, by Gil Bite out of Flora M'lvor, dam of Cossack, Flora, &c. Gil Bias by Muley, out of Bequest : vide Stud Book, vol. iv., p. 38. Terms. — £5 a mare, and ss. the Groom. This horse will be limited to fifteen mares j early application is therefore necessary. Sib Heecuxes and Atheistane wfll be at the Star and Garter, Richmond, every Friday ; in Nelson, erery Saturday; and at the Wakefield Arms, Waimea South, every Tuesday.
