THE BALTIC,

Berlin, July 4th. — The town of Nystadt, situated at the entrance of the gulf of Bothnia, has been bombarded and destroyed.

A squadron of seven steamers passed Botaldavik, on the 25th June, with six prizes.

We have the gratifying news that the thi'ee officers and eight of the boat's crew of the Cossack, who were supposed to have been killed at Hango, are alive but prisoners, and that only five of the crew lost their lives. The Russians, who at first denied all knowledge of the flag of truce, are now said to admit that the boat exhibited such a flag, but allege that reports had readied them of soundings having been taken elsewhere under the flags of truce, and that they therefore suspected a stratagem to surprise them. The allied fleets off Cronstadt have succeeded in discovering and destroying forty-six infernal machines. One of these exploded on the deck of the Exmouth wliile the officers were examining it. Admiral Seymour and Cap Lain Louis were severely injured, and Lieutenant Pierce was slightly injured by the explosion. The fleets have had skirmishes with the Russians at Sweaborg, Narva, and Nysladt. On the 21st June the Amphiou grounded while reconnoitring Sweaborg. One of the nearest forts opened fire upon her. Four shots struck her, killing one man and wounding two others. The Amphion returned the complimeut with such precision, that a large Russian powder magazine was blown up, and other serious damage done to the fort.
