GERMANY.
Intelligence from Berlin of the 20th June announces that an Austrian circular had been Bent to Frankfort. The object of this circular was to establish an understanding between Austria and Russia at the Diet.
Feahkpobt. — An Austrian despatch of the 12th June proposes to Prussia that she and Austria should come to a special understanding as to a common course of conduct to be adopted by the two powers in their communications to the Diet.
There is not the slightest reason to apprehend that any of the German states will expose their coasts and trade to squadrons of steam-boats. They are as much paralyzed by sea as by land, and we are comparatively indifferent to the views entertained at Berlin, Frankfort, or Vienna, since they are powerless from the moment they cease to be in our favour.
