TVTOTICE is hereby given, that a SPECIAL JL 1 MEETING of JUSTICES OF THE PEACE for the Province of Nelson, will be held at the Cottbt House, Nelson, on MONDAY, the 29th inetant, at Noon, for the purpose of HEARING and DETERMINING applications from the Commissioner of Pubhe Works for the STOPPING UP and DIVERTING CERTAIN ROADS in the PROVINCE OF NELSON, Notices of which have been advertised by the said Commissioner in the Government Gazette and local Newspaper. Nelson, October 19, 1855. ■\TOTICE.— On and after the 21st instant, ly the following REGULATIONS will be strictly observed at the Queen's Whabf, for the Shipment and Discharge of Vessels and Boats lying alongside :—: — 1. No Vessel or Boat will be permitted to lay alongside the Wharf for a longer period than three hours at one time, should another Vessel require the Wharf. And in the event of a Vessel having completed the loading or unloading of cargo before the expiration of the above specified time, she is not to remain alongside, but haul off for the convenience of others. 2. The Wharf must be kept clear when required by the Customs' authorities for the Lauding and Shipment of Bonded Goods. 3. Vessels or Boats making fast ahead and astern, are to slack their Warps when required, to allow Boats to pass to and from the Wharf. 4. All Masters of Vessels or Boats who shall, through negligence or want of due^ precaution, allow their Vessels to ground and thereby subject others to hindran«6 and delay, shall pay all expenses arising from such detention. WHEREAS the General Assembly of New Zealand has been dissolved, and Writs under the hand of his Excellenoy Thomas Gobs Bbowns, Esquire, Companion of the most honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, bearing date the fifteenth day of September instant, have been directed to me, John Poynteb, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Province of Nelson, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form bylaw prescribed, Six Members, to serve in the House of Representatives for tho colony of New Zealand, for the several districts, as follows, viz. : — Town of Nelson . . Two Members Waimea Districts . . Two Members Wairau District . • One Member Motueka and Massacre Bay District . . . One Member. Now therefore I, the said John Poyntbb, do hereby, in pursuance of the said writs, give notice that J appoint the several days following, at Twelve o'clock at noon, for the NOMINATION of Members for the said districts, that is to say — For the Town of Nelson — at the Court House, Nelson, onTHUBSDAY, the First day of November next.
