MEETING TO PREPARE A MEMORIAL OF GRIEVANCES.
After the business of the meeting called to consider an address to be presented to the Governor had been brought to an end, most of the gentlemen who had composed it constituted themselves into another meeting, for the purpose of taking measures to bring before his
Excellency, on his arrival in Nelson, a statement of the grievances under which the Province laboured. D. Sinclair, Esq., was requested to take the chair. Proposed by Dr. Ren wick, seconded by Mr. Muller, and carried unanimously —
That a committee be appointed, to consist of Messrs. Travers, Mackay, Adams, and Elliott, for the purpose of drawing up a statement of the grievances of the Province, to be presented to his Excellency the Governor on his arrival here ; and that the committee do report to a public meeting, to be held on Monday next, and of which notice shall be given in the NeUon Examiner.
