WHEREAS the General Assembly of New Zealand has been tlisaolved, and Writs under the hand of his Excellency Thomas Gobb Bbowne, jEsquire, Companion of the most honourable Order of tho Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, bearing date the fifteenth day of September instant, have been directed -to me, John Poynteb, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Province of Nelson, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form bylaw prescribed, Six Members, to serve in the House of B«presentatives for the colony of New Zealand, for the several districts, as follows, viz. :— Town of Nelson . . Two Members W&imea Districts . . Two Members Wairau District . . Ono Member Motueka and Massacre Bay District . . . One Member. Now therefore I, the said John Poynteb, do hereby, in pursuance of the said writs, give notice that I appoint the several days following, at Twelve o'clock at noon, for the NOMINATION of Members for the ■aid districts, that ia to say — For the Town of Nelson— at the Court House, Nelson, on Thubsday, the First day of November next. For the Waimea Districts— at Richmond, on Monday, the Fifth day of November next. Jbr the Wairau District— &t Mr. Godfrey's Hotel, Wairau, on Thubbday, the First day of Novem*ber next. For the Motueka and Massabre Bay Districts — at the School House, Motueka, on Wednesday, the Twenty-fourth day of October next. In the event of a Poll being demanded in any or either of the above districts, I hereby further appoint the following times and places for the POLLING to take place, as follows, viz : — For the Town of Nelson— at the Court House, Nelson, on Monday, the Twelfth day of Novem- . bernext. Now, therefore, I, the said John Poyntor, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, and of the Proclamation of bis Honor the Superintendent, give notice, that the Nomination of Two Members to be elected under the said Act, will take place at Noon, at the Courthouse, Nelson, on Tubbday, the Sixth day of November next ; and in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby give notice that I will adjourn the Election to Tuesday, the 20th of November, for the •Polling to take place.
