Local Intelligence.

Accident. —An accident occurred on Thursday to the second daughter of Mr. 6. W. Schroder, a little girl about eleven years of age. The child was about to accompany her father to the Wairau, and was mounted on a pony for the journey; but before she had proceeded 100 yards from her father's residence on the Beach, the pony commenced bucking in a most determined manner., and threw the child ■ with great violence on the ground. For several hours after the .poor child was insensible,- and a concussion, of the brain was apprehended, as she had fallen upon her head ; but we are glad to learn that she is now better, and hopes are entertained that no unfavourable consequences will ensue.
