TITHEREAS the General Assembly of New T V Zealand has been dissolved, and Writs under the hand of his Excellency Thomas Qobe Baowinr, Esquire, Companion of the most honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander •in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, bearing date the fifteenth day of September instant, have been directed to me, John Poyktke, Esquire, Returning Officer ' for the Province of Nelson, requiring and commanding • me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the 3 voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and in* differently, and in manner and form bylaw prescribed, f Six Members, to serve in the House of Representa- , tives for the colony of New Zealand, for the several 1 districts, as follows, viz. ; — > Town of Nelson . . I ELECTION OF ONE MEMBER FOB THE s PROVINCIAL COUNCIL. 1 Province or Nelson to vtvs. WHEREAS a WRIT, under the hand of his Honor Edward William Stafford, Es* quire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, bearing date the Second day of October instant, hath been directed to me, John Poynter, Esquire, Resident Magistrate and Returning Officer for the Province of ' Nelson, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected, by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, mi in manner and form by law prescribed, ONE PERSON to serve as MEMBER for the MOTUEKA District, in the place of Alfred Christopher Picard, Esquire, deceased. Now, therefore, I, the said John Poynter, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, give Notice, that I appoint Thubsday, the 25th day of October instant, at noon, at the Scool-house, Motueka, for the Nomination to take place ; and, in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby further appoint WBjfeTES--day, the 31st October instant, for the Potifife to take place, at the Schpol-lumse aforesaid. WHEREAS a WRIT, under the hand of his Honor Edward William Stafford, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, bearing , date the Second day. of October instant, hath been directed to me, John Poynter, Esquire, Resident Magistrate and Returning Officer for the Province of ' Nelson, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, TWO PERSONS to serve as TRUSTEES under the Nelson Tnut Funds Act, in the place of Alfred Christopher Picard, Esquire, deceased, and of William Oldfield Cautley, Esquire, . whose seat is vacant from non-attendance for six months at the Board without leave of absence. Now, therefore, I, the said John Poynter, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, and of the Proclamation of his Honor the Superintendent, give notice, that the Nomination of Two Members to be elected under the said Act, will take place at Noon, at the Court, house, Nelson, on Tuesday, the Sixth day of No- ' vember next ; and in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby give notice that I will adjourn the Election to Tuesday, the 20th of November, for the Polling to take place.
