Mr. Tbavees moved the consideration of the postponed item, Postal Communication between the Provinces by Steam, £6,000. Agreed to. Mr. Travebs moved the following resolution, to be appended to the vote :— "That the sum of £6,000 be placed upon the Estimates for postal communication between the Provinces by steam, but that in case the services of the steamer be not extended to Otago, that Province should be exonerated from a proportionate part of the said sum. Message No. 37. Mr. Tbavebs moved that the sum of £60 be voted to defray the additional salary of the Colonial Treasure recommended in this message. Agreed to. The Speaker resumed the chair, and the Chaibman having reported progress, the house adjourned.
