POLICE INTELLIGENCE.

In the absence of the Police Magistrate, Captain Wakefield and Captain England have sat in the Police Office during the week. On Tuesday, William Bcakly was charged by John Lister with having stolen a waistcoat and other property whilst on board the ship Indus. The case being fully proved, Beakly was committed for trial. John Armstrong was summoned by James Carter for suffering his bullocks to trespass in Carter's garden. Fined fiifteen shillings and costs. Charles Chamberlain was summoned for having suffered his pigs to trespass in the garden of Robert Boddington. Fined five shillings and costs. John Wallace was convicted in the penalty of fifty pounds for selling less than two gallons of wine without a license, it being the second offence. A 8 there was not sufficient property on his premises to pay the fine, he was committed to prison for three months. On Thursday, Charles Roebuck was committed for trial for shooting a pig, the property of Charles Chamberlain.
