<^*^ CONTRACT FOR SVRVBYS. NOTICE is hereby given that TENDERS for the following CONTRACTS will be received at this office up to the 24th of March : Contract No. 1 comprises land contained within these boundaries. On the north-east, that of the sea shore (high water mark), from the mouth of the river Wairoo (Cloudy Bay) to tbe first cliff on the coast. North-west, by a continued ranfe of hills. South-east, by the river Wairoo. South-west, it terminates at a point where the river flows at the foot of the hills. Contract No. 3 extends from the Wairoo mouth, south-east along thft coast to a cliff known as the White Bluff; and inland, is contained between the rivsr Wairoo on the one side, and a well defined range of bills on the other ; terminating on the south-western extremity of a small wood, at a linecrossing the plain, in a course due south by compass. Contract No. 8, commencing at the same line, is contained on eithejside within the some natural boundaries as No. S ; and extends inland to the first river flowing from the southeast across the plain to the river Wairoo. Contract No. 4 consists of all the available land on either side of the river Ourere (Massacre Bay}. It is estimated that each contract on the Wairoo will comprise as much as 20,000 acres of land ; but it is not probable that more than 75 per cent, of the wkole would be eligible for subdivision into sections* The Specifications may be referred to on and after Monday the 13th instant. _ FbbdMbick Tcckstt, Survey office, Neslon, March 9. Chief Surveyor. and Agents of ProX prietors of lands in tbe Settlement of Nelson, are informed 'that on the first distribution of Accommodation Sections, at choice No. 328, sections No. 69, Waimea East and Waimea West, are both marked on the plan, as then chosen. The former is recorded as the actual choice, [and > the latter remains unchosen. This circumstance having been overlooked at the last distribution, the section No. 69, Waimea West, is now offered for selection to any party who, having chosen subsequently, at ' the time supposing this section to have been already chosen, might now prefer it to that which he then selected. Tho section relinquished by any party thus entitled to correct his choice, will be open to the holder of the next choice, and so successively to the last-choice. All parties interested, are invited to meet at this office, on the 2d of March, at ten, a.m. % after which date, any Accommodation Sections already surveyed which may remain unselccted, add any other available land nownnsurveyed which - may be found within the limits of the respective districts, will be arranged and appropriated to form Rural Sections, and tbe survey of Accommodation Sections will be considered as final and complete. Until further notice, any party, or bis agent, attending at the New Zealand House on any Thursday at three o'clock r. m., and producing the receipt of the Cotopany's Bankers. Messrs. Smith, Payne, and Smith, for j£m«u, will be entitled to draw, in the presence of the Court of Directors, from a wheel in which the acgistry numbers of all unsold allotments have been deposited, with special precautions for their security and for the fab-nets of the proceeding.
