Wreckofthe Tktjganini. — On the night of the 25th November, Captain' Griffiths, of the schooner Truganini, bound from Port Phillip to Hobart Town, after lying-to some time in the Straits, was compelled by the increased violence of the gale to run for ' Lady Bay, at the eastern side of Wilson's Promontory. The night being dark, the vessel was run upon the rocks, and owing to the violence of the waves quickly went to pieces. Every assistance was rendered by the whaling party stationed at the bay, and the whole of the crew and passengers reached the shore. Three of the seamen, and four whalers who volunteered, started for Melbourne in a whale boat, and were picked up by the Sea Horse a short distance from the heads, on the evening of Thursday last. The Truganini was a very old vessel ; shfe was formerly a hulk at Hobart' Town, and was sold by the Government, at auction, some years since, for £400. —Port Phillip Patriot. Loss of the Brig Ported. — The brig Porter, whaler, struck on a reef during the dark tempestuous night of September 2, and became a total wreck. The reef on which the Porter struck was laid down in his charts in lat. 12 deg. 32 mm. N., long. 114 deg. 35 mm. E. ; but Captain Hutchings found that the bearings of the ship when he left her were lat. 12 deg. 25 mm. N., long. 114 deg. 2 mm. E. ; there being thus a difference of seven miles latitude and thirty-three miles longitude. The crew launched the long boat, and arrived at Congeidore (Manilla), after great hardships, Sept 10.
