POLICE INTELLIGENCE.

On Tuesday last, Mr. Thomson was brought up on a charge of having assaulted Mr. Warburton, of the Commercial Hotel, on the previous day. It appeared by the evidence ihat Mr. Warburton holds the premises for which he is licensed, from Mr./I'homson, and a quarrel having taken place between them, defendant had taken the law into his own hands, and had endeavoured forcibly to eject the complainant. Defendant was ordered to pay a fine of one pound and costs and was bound over to keep the peace. - Mr. Thomson then laid an information against Mr. Warburton for selling liquor contrary to the provisions of the ordinance, which will be heard on Tuesday next. On the same day, Michael Peel and Samuel Jourdan were brought up on a charge of having stolen an anchor, the property of Wilson the boatman. The case was of a very, complicated nature, and the prisoners were finally bound over in their own recognizances to take their trial for selling marine stores contrary to the act of Parliament.
