«<HE DISTRIBUTION of the ACJL COMMODATION LANDS will commence on MONDAY the 24th instant, at Ten o'clock. Survey Office, Nelson, August 16. s , JairibPRIETORS and the Agents of *9_' Proprietors of Land in the Settlement of Nelson are informed, that on the 22d of August ensuing, about half of the whole number of Sections of Accommodation Land will be offered for selection. 'These sections are contained n the following districts. Each district has its own series of numerals branded on the stakes which mark the limits of each section. Sections First District. — Suburban, N. N. E., surveyed by Mr. Duffey, exeends to where the Boulder Bank unites with the main land, having a frontage on the coast line, and comprises about 40 Second District. — Suburban, east, surveyed by Mr, Budge, and Messrs. Watts and Davison, comprises in^w, the Maitai and Brook Street valleys >*«H Third DUtriet, — Suburban, south, surveyed by Mr. Musgrave, commences without the reserve for the cattle market, having sections on the east anil on the west side of the base line, as also on the coast, and terminates in the Waimea Plain, comprises about v flO Fourth District.— Waimea Plain, east, surveyed by Messrs. Barnicoat and Thompson, commences at the extremity of District No. 3, and extends southward to the Eiver Wairoa, and westward to the River Waiti ; comprises about. 210 Fifth District.— Waimea Plain, west, surveyed by Mr. Cotterell, comprises the whole of the plain west of the Waiti and Waimea rivers, and some portion of hill lands of moderate elevation west of the plain, divided int0. .... 180 Sixth District.— The Motuaka, surveyed by Mr. Stephens and Sir. Brunner, in which will now be offered probably 60 Total Number of Sections 572 Plans of the several surveys will be ready for public inspection at the Survey Office, Nelson, early in the first week of August, that of the Motuaka excepted, which, prior to the selection, may be seen at the Survey Station, Motuaka, on application to Mr. Stephens. The survey of the remainder of sections of the Accommodation Lands will probably be completed early in the month of December. LAND ASSOCIATION.— J-^l The object of this Association is to increase the prosperity of the artisans, rnnchaTiin, and norking classes of this colony by enabling them to ■possess town and country land, which, secured at this early period of the existence of this settlement, cannot fail to he attended with certain rapid and great increase in value at no distant date. The present system of colonization, though very comprehensive, is not sufficiently so to secure fox the industrious classes at an evly period an interest in, and thereby an attachment to, the prosterity of this colony. This Association purposes, by » combination of acquired capital, to purchase land for the Unefit of its members. At a meeting held at Mr. Coekburn's, Commercial Inn, the following gentlemen were chosen as a committee to lay before a Public Meeting, to be held at Mr. CodtbuA's, Auckland Point, on Tuesday next the 33d instant, a Prospectus of the intended Association— Mt.
