("advertisement.] The emigrants on board the Lord Auckland present Captain Jardine with an izimuth compass, as a small tribute of their ssteem towards him for his liberality, his 'tindness, and attention to their comforts luring their passage from England to Nelson, New Zealand, and beg his acceptance of it.
Captain Jardine presents his compliments to the emigrants per Lord Auckland, and accepts with much satisfaction the tribute of their esteem. He begs leave to say that, in acting with kindness and attention towards them, he felt it a duty incumbent upon him to render a long voyage as agreeable as possible. Captain Jardine cannot leave Nelson without wishing his emigrants all the happiness and prosperity their enterprize deserves. Lord Auckland, Bolton Roads, April 7, 1842.
