AMERICANS IN OCEANIA: The United States Secretary for War (Mr H. L. Stimson) has announced that substantial American Army forces are now in the New Hebrides, the Fijian Islands and at other points where their presence has not been officially disclosed before. It has been known for some time that they are garrisoning New Caledonia while the U.S. Army has considerably reinforced the marines in the Solomons.
