| PRESENTATION AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE London, Oct. 14. ! At Buckingham Palace, the King awarded Distinguished Flying Medals to Flight-Lieutenant J. P. Barrow (Gisborne), Pilot Officer C. A. Armstrong (Devonport), Warrant Officer O. W. Thompson (Waipiro Bay). He also presented the Air Force Medal to Pilot Officer D. P. Phillips (Wellington). Mr Jordan. High Commissioner in London, congratulated them at the New Zealand Forces Club. Armstrong and Thompson both fought at Malta, 'rtiey i are all now instructors. VISIT TO STIRLING SQUADRON Mr Jordan, visiting a Stirling Squadron, met many New Zealanders operating these heavy bombers. They included Pilot O'jicers D. Newall (Timaru), G. Patrick (Dunedin), F. C. Jones, L. J. Drummond (Auckland). H. S. Bilberd (Wellington), Flight Sergeants E. H. Howell (Wellington), K. Smith (Auckland), Sergeants P. A. Radomski (Wellington). L. K. Warren. I. Connelly (Auckland), K. G. Mc-

Kenzie (Invercargill), M. Torrance (Christchurch), W. L. Harvey (Central Otago), Scott Craw (Banks Peninsula) and H. C. Whitwell. Many have nearly completed their operational tour. Torrance secured the probable destruction of a ME near Wilhelmshaven.—P.A special correspondent.
