TRIBUTE TC) LATE MR J. A. McCiE ASHEN At the monthly meedug of the Motueka Borough Council the Mayor, Mr \V. J. Eginton, in making reference to the passing of Mr J. A. McGlashen. said the latter had given much of his time to public life. He had served as a councillor for six years and had been Mayor of Motueka for four years. At the period of the depression Mr McGlashen. as Mayor, had been instrumental in the borough purchasing the lire engine which had been recently disposed of by the Council. He had also taken a very keen interest in sport. The Mayor moved that the Council place on record its dee-, appreciation of the service rendered to the borough and ratepayers by the late Mr J. A. McGlashen as Mayor for four years and councillor for six years, and that a copy of the resolution be forwarded to Mrs McGlashen and family.
