The Stamp Club
t , CONDUCTED BY THE STAMP MAN - Dear Boys and Girls.— !' During the last 15 months ur so. you . have been saving and sending me used stamps. This week I have paid £1 Is ■ Gd into the Patriotic Funds, making a ' total of £4 9s fid to date. When you realise that a big majority of the stamps only bring Gd per thousand. I am sure that you all can fee! quite proud of the amount wo hav j been able to raise so far. The Nelson district has raised its quota of money for Patriotic Funds for this year, but it is not too early to think about making a start for next year’s quota. Will all you boys and girls. and all the adults who read “The Mail” save New Zealand stamps and
...oj, .~,»yc Guiana stamps ana send them in to mo? If you enclose your name and address, they will be acknowledged in this stamp column, as «oon as possible. I wonder if many of you have secured the current 2s* Gd stamp of Great Britain printed in the new green colour, and issued some months ago? It could almost be called a war stamp because, owing to war conditions which have caused a shortage of brown dye previously used for this value, the colour has had to be changed. Your friend.
