TORPEDOED IN ST. LAWRENCE
Quebec, Oct. 15.—A submarine torpedoed and sank a merchantman in a small convoy off Metis Beach, 180 miles upstream from the mouth of the St. Lawrence river the furthest upstream yet. Twelve are missing and eighteen were rescued
