NEW ZEALAND FORCES AERODROME DEFENCE POSTS Military appointments and promotions gazetted last night include the following : Major E. W George, district works officer. Southern Military District, to be lieutenant-colonel (temporary): Major C. E. Reid, senior medical officer in a Southern Military District camp, to be lieutenant-colonel (temporary); Captain E. A. Porritt. to be major (temporary) and i s seconded to the Royal New Zealand Air Force for duty as an aerodrome defence commander; Major H. E. Suckling, New Zealand Dental Corps, to be lieutenantcolonel (temporary). Lieutenant-Colonel J P. Joyce is appointed Senior Staff Officer. Artillery. Army Headquarters. Major (temporary) D. W. Earle is appointed AssistantDirector of Dental Services (adminis-
tration), Army Headquarters. Major (temporary) C E. L. Rout is appointed Assistant-Director of Dental Services in a North Island division. The following officers are seconded to the Roval New Zealand Air P’orce for duty as aerodrome defence commanders:—Major C. F. McCallum, Captain J. T. Thomas, Captain R. A. Prescott, Captain A. C. E.
