GUILTY OF SHEEP STEALING

Palmerston North, This Day Found guilty by the jury on a charge of stealing sheep and having pleaded guilty to a second charge of the same nature. Leo Merton Biggar, married, pig farmer, was sentenced by the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, to two years’ imprisonment with hard labour on each charge, the terms to be concurrent. Accused yesterday was found guilty of the theft of fifteen sheep and two gun covers. To-day Biggar pleaded guilty to the theft of 15 sheep at the Awahuri property of Alexander Glasslord.- P.A.
