TAKAKA BOWLING CLUB

OPENING! DAY Beautifully sunny feather, with everywhere (he freshness of spring, favoured the bowlers and drew a large crowd to the opening day of the Takaka Bowling Club. Although the dillleulties of travel kept away many who were frequent visitors on former opening days, greetings were sent by telegram from Mupun. Motuekn. Richmond. Wakefield, and Nelson Clubs, Three members from the Maitai Club were heartily welcomed. Mr C. Emms, the president, welcomed all members and friends and expressed pleasure in the faet that so many ladies were present. He called on Mrs Emms to roll the first bowl and declare the season open. After the ladies had been entertained to afternoon tea play was commenced and a pleasant time ulj spent by all bowlers.
