GREAT MORAL VICTORY
BRITISH DECISION ABOUT CHINA ABROGATION OF EXTRATERRITORIALTY <Rec. 10.0 a.m.) Rugby, Oct. 13. Mr Churchill received the following message from General Chiang Kai-shek, commander of Chinese forces: “China appreciates deeply the gesture of friendship and goodwill Britain made in determining to abrogate extra-terri-toriality in China. I feel certain that this expressive evidence of Sino-British friendship is based o.n equal and mutual trust and will inaugurate a new and significant era not only in the Far East, but throughout the entire world. By this voluntary abandonment of obsolete privileges Britain has won a great moral victory.”—B.O.W.
