Lynn Bari, as a spy, heads tiie supporting cast. Joseph Schildkraut is seen a.s Jane's long-lost father. Stanley Fields plays “Angel Face.” the hard-boiled sergeant, under whose supervision the Ritzes play nursemaid to a herd of army mules. An unusual and absorbing idea in mystery films is in “The Man Who Wouldn't Talk.” From the outset, v hen a murder is committed, the audience and the police know at once who committed the crime; the mystery is the identity of the killer and his motive. Majestic, non showing; Greta Garbo, with Melvyn Douglas, Roland Young and Constance Bennett in hilarious comedy, "Two-Faced Woman.” Cast in the role of a woman who has to masquerade as her “twin sister” m order to win back her errant husband, Garbo not only plays the dual role with delightful humour and conviction, but also casts all her weiiknown reticence to the wind to sing, jitterbug, appear in a bathing suit tor the first time and literally "let down her hair” in duels with her love rival, enacted by Constance Bennett. The picture first introduces Garbo as a ski instructress at a winter resort. Melvyn Douglas. a New York publisher, arrives; they ;a!l in love and are married. Then trouble appears in the offing in the person of .Miss Bennett, who proceeds to charm the susceptible husband away. Garbo appears on the scene as her “twin sister." and Douglas promptly la 11s in love with ner all over again. All the characters arc admirably portrayed. The excitement starts when Brenda Joyce is stranded in New York. As she is signing up at a nurses' registry she hears a call tor another nurse. Brenda tries to grao the call, but is scolded when the othc. nurse, played by Academy Avaid V. inner Jane Danve 11, shows up. When she hear Brenda’s story, she gets her a position taking care of reformed gangster Sheldon Leonard's daughter. She learns that the little girl, portrayed by Ann Todd, does not know her mother's identity. Brenda accidentally learns who Ann's mother is. but is warned by the father not to intericre. How she brings mother, father and child together makes an exciting climax. In tiie co-ieature there are diamonds and other diamonds. according to Michael bhayne. Those that decorate milady's wrists are "Blue. White and Perfect.” others are roughly cut diamonds used in industrial plants This difference is the cause of two murders in the exciting new mystery-comedy.
