BOND-MONEY FORFEITED

The annual report of the Department of Internal Affairs states that the number of permits to leave the Dominion issued in the year ended 31st March last was 6426, compared with 11.000 in the previous year. The bond-money of 16 men who gave undertakings to return within a specified time and failed to return was rendered forfeit. The total amount involved was £950.
