FOWLS, LIKE HUMANS
REQUIRE TONING UP FOR BEST RESULTS Just as the human system needs the periodic assistance of a tonic to keep it functioning properly, so a hen. lacing a season of heavy demands upon its physical resources, will benefit enormously from similar attention. There appears to be little dispute of the statement that the health of a flock has an importance upon egg production scarcely realised by hundreds of poultry-keepers. They observe the hen to be “off colour.” but are satisfied to give her no special attention apart perhaps from an extra ration of feed. This is just what the ripening pullet or the older hen does not want. She needs something lo purify her blood, to help her recover from the moulting period, and to enable her to convert her food into bodily health. Feeding up alone won’t give best results at this time of the year, but good food plus a spoonful of approved poultry tonic will work wonders with the flock. In short, the right tonic applied at the right time will result in having eggs to sell and not to buy at winter’s high prices. A poultry tonic known as Laymor is recommended and can be obtained from grocers. I chemists, and produce merchants.*
