INTERCESSION

THE LYING TONGUE Hold not Thy Peace, O God of my praise; for the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit have they opened against me. They have spoken against me with a lying tongue. They compassed me about with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause. (Psalm cTx:l-3.) O God. Who ever defendest the truth, guide and bless our King and his counsellors, keeping them in safety, and giving them wisdom in Thy purposes of truth and right. In their pursuit of righteousness, may they have the support of the whole nation. Deliver us from strife and faction, and unite all in one mind and heart, not only against the evils of the enemy, but also to reform all wrongs within, and to adjust aright all social relationships; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
